Douglas County's 150th anniversary. Both were on the list of 150 most influential citizens.
Nearly 170 people attended the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce gala in Genoa on Saturday to learn who had been named the top 10 most influential people in Douglas County history.
A committee consisting of former Nevada Cultural Affairs Director and historian Mike Fischer, Laurey Hickey of the Douglas County Historical Society and Record-Courier Editor Kurt Hildebrand worked with Chamber Director Bill Chernock to select 150 individuals or couples who helped change the face of Douglas County since it was created by the Territorial Legislature on Nov. 29, 1861.
The list of 150 was published in the Nevada Day edition of The Record-Courier, but the 10 most influential people were unveiled on Saturday at Antocci's.
