Fundraiser set for man with brain cancer

Topaz Community Open Bible Church is hosting a fundraiser noon-3 p.m. Sunday to benefit Dan Grimes who has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, stage four brain cancer.

Guests are invited to make a donation for the spaghetti dinner. There will be door prizes and auction items.

All money goes to a Wells Fargo account for Grimes' medical expenses.

Grimes has worked for the Town of Gardnerville for eight years, and has been a resident of the area for 40 years.

He was diagnosed in August with glioblastoma and is unable to work due to pain, seizures and paralysis of his right arm.

He and his wife Mary live in Topaz Ranch Estates with their daughter Dawn and her four children.

Account No. 6021801425 has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank to help Daniel Grimes with expenses not covered by medical insurance.
